If you’ve been following along, there were some exciting games, and as usual, there were surprises and disappointments. Sixteen teams were eliminated and sixteen teams moved on to the knockout stages. Compare your or your students’ answers to the Math-Drills answers. There were a few group ranks that were determined on “goal difference” (Spain, Brazil, Poland, France) and one that was determined on the second tiebreaker, “goals for” (Korea Republic).
